Me 1Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved a good story.  It could be in any form: a book, a television show, or my favorite – a movie.  So, when a friend suggested I watch a foreign movie that she had really enjoyed, I was game.  The movie was a Bollywood film made in 2010 called “My Name is Khan”.
The story followed a Muslim man with Asperger Syndrome, Rizwan Khan, newly transplanted to San Francisco from India.  In the story, he found love and then tragedy when the events of 9/11 unfolded. Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal of Rizwan Khah was at once touching and fascinating.  He made the character charming, sweet, and quirky. The storyline itself alternated between believable and totally unbelievable, but it didn’t seem to matter as I was totally entertained.
I have watched many Bollywood movies since and along the way I have discovered a world of color, music, memorable stories and I have fallen in love many times.  In recent years, I have discovered Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema also. BollywoodPrime is meant to serve as an introduction to the fascinating world of Indian cinema, its’ movies, stars, and music, etc.
