Kajol Mukherjee Devgan, known simply as Kajol, iconic Bollywood actress, born August 5, 1974, in Mumbai. Kajol is the daughter of actress Tanuja and the niece of Nutan. Her father, Shomu Mukherjee, was a director and producer.  At the age of sixteen, Kajol made her film debut in ‘Bekhudi’ with her mother, but her next role, that of Priya Chopra in the hit ‘Baazigar’ (1993), marked her first commercial success with Shah Rukh Khan. With him, Kajol starred in some very successful films: ‘Karan Arjun’ (1995), ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (1995), ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998), ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (2001), ‘My Name is Khan’ (2010), and ‘Diwali’ (2015). Some of Kajol’s other hits include: ‘’Yeh Dillagi’ (1994), Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’ (1998), ‘Gupt-The Hidden Truth’ (1997), ‘Dushman’ (1998), and ‘Fanaa’ (2006). She has tied her Aunt Nutan, by winning five Filmfare Best Actress awards. She has also been awarded the Padma Shri for her contribution to the Arts from the Government of India. Kajol has been married to actor Ajay Devgan since 1999 and has also done many movies with him. Kajol made a Tamil/Telugu film with Dhanush called ‘Velaiilla Pattadhari 2’ (VIP 2), in 2017. She starred in ‘Helicopter Eela’ (2018), playing a controlling single mother, and did a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Zero’.  Her most recent film is ‘Tanhaji’ (2020), a period drama set in 17th century Maharashtra. Kajol co-starred with her husband Ajay Devgan in the movie.
